Wise Alec is a trivia based game. It challenges you with trivia questions as you move through the board with your game piece. This game is sure to be a hit with even your grade-schoolers.
The cards give each player a choice of answering easy or difficult questions. Here's an example from one of the History cards.
Easy - worth 3 points
Q. If I use a shopping bag more than once to bring my groceries home, what am I doing?
A. Reusing
Difficult - worth 7 points
Q. In the United States, the government is divided into what 3 branches?
A. Judicial, Executive, & Legislative
The player rolls the dice, moves on the game board and whatever color they land on, determines which card they draw. They have different categories: Spelling, History, Science and Wise Alec cards. The spelling, history, and science cards all have 3 and 7 point questions on them like mentioned above. The Wise Alec card have quirky alternatives, like brain teasers (Name 5 famous TV personalities), tongue twisters (say Iced Ink 10 times), action(make a funny face), and study break cards(do 10 sit-ups). The first player to the point goal wins!
The game is a lot of fun. The questions are challenging but reasonable for family fun. The 3 point questions are more geared for my daughter's age group. She'll be 8 next month and my son who is 11 can easily answer the difficult questions.
Honestly, there are some games that I can only play with one child or another based on the difficulty level. This game caters to both of my children's age range, so it makes it fun for the whole family.
