Words of the Wise is a Brainteaser game. Work through the alphabet using the cards to guide you. It might be harder than it looks. This fast-paced alphabet guessing game is sure to be a bit hit at your next family game night.
The game comes with 2 types of cards:
Words of the wise cards: These have the topic that your word should be based on(i.e. cities, authors, stores, toys & games, baby stuff..etc)
Wise Alec cards: These can be used during gameplay to challenge the game even further (i.e. Pass, Skip, Multiple Skip, Last Letter, Reverse)
A card is drawn and each player takes their turn, starting with the letter A, names off a word that matches that category. If you get stumped, it goes on to the next person to guess, until it's down to one person left. That person gets the points marked on the card. Each have a different point amount value. The first person to the targeted point value, wins.
I had a lot of fun playing this. I thought it would be so easy to think of a word for each letter of the alphabet, but when trying to get it within the category, it makes it more difficult. I love the challenging nature of the game.
This game is for ages 10 and up and it is challenging enough that any smaller children will most definitely have difficulty with it. My daughter who will be 8 next month gets frustrated easily, so when she can't think of a word, it stops being fun for her. My son who is 11 is quick with his words and it was a lot of fun for him. As you play it, you start to remember other's peoples word choices and it makes it a little easier to move through the alphabet.
