I've been in a health craze the past several months, and since Christmas have started drinking fruit / vegie smoothies. While doing research on different recipes to make smoothies with, the term matcha kept coming up. I wasn't sure what exactly it was and had never tried any but was curious how well it'd work in my smoothies. 

I was given the opportunity to try out Matcha Organic's powder. It is a powder from green tea. The techy details are above in pink from the company. I am impressed by how good for you this powder is. I started out, with checking the directions on the back, however there really isn't any instruction on the packaging on just how you use the product, with the exception of the recommended daily dose, which is 1/2 - 1tsp. It does say it is good for lattes, baking and smoothies. 
Luckily, the company also provided a separate e-book for Top 100 Matcha Recipes for me to play with. 


The matcha powder came in a 4 oz resealable pouch. It has a very fine silky feel to it. I tasted a little on my finger before using and it was kind of a bland powder taste. The went with a tsp because it was a rather large smoothie. It blended in perfectly and disguised with all the other stuff in the smoothie, I didn't even taste it. 

I intend on making some of the yummy baking recipes out of the e-book.  There were a couple in there that caught my eye right away.
