0 PÜR Gum review

As of recent, I've been into trying products that are "better" or "healthier" for you. When given the opportunity to try out  PÜR Gum, I jumped at the chance. When reading about it, what stuck out foremost is that it is Aspartame free. Instead, it is made with Xylitol, which is natural.

There's so many products that we use and have no idea of some of the ingredients that are in them that really aren't good for you. A little background about Aspartame and Xylitol, in case you aren't aware.
"Aspartame is a man-made, synthetic sweetener found in most sugar-free gums, beverages, and candies. This food additive has been linked to symptoms including (but not limited to) headaches, dizziness, mood change, vomiting/nausea, and change in heart rate."
I'd heard that Aspartame wasn't that great for you but It's also news to me learning about the symptoms that it can cause. The good thing is that PÜR Gum doesn't contain any. Instead, they use a natural ingredient called Xylitol. Xylitol is made from corn and is found to aide in digestion and prevent tooth decay. It's safe for pregnant moms and children of any age.
"Xylitol is an all-natural sweetener found in many fruits and vegetables looks and tastes like sugar. It's good for your teeth, stabilizes insulin and hormone levels, promotes good health and has none of the negative side effects of white sugar or artificial sweeteners. Xylitol looks like sugar, tastes like sugar, and has the same sweetness as sugar, making it the ideal natural sugar replacement."
Each piece of gum contains 1 gram of Xylitol and is 2.4 calories per gram. With all the details, basically, Aspartame is bad for you, and Xylitol is good for you. With the Xylitol that is in the gum, it helps with your oral health, which hopefully will mean fewer trips to the dentist.

Whether you have dietary restrictions or just like the idea of eating healthier, PUR Gum is a good choice.

OK, so we've covered what is in it, what is NOT in it, and why the gum is good for you. Now how about the taste? I received four flavors to try out, Pomegranate Mint, Spearmint, Wintergreen and Peppermint. Over the last week or so, I've been trying them all. Out of the package the flavor hits with a punch and each are delicious. The flavor doesn't last a crazy long time, but the gum consistency does. I'll find myself forgetting about the gum in my mouth or the fact that I've lost my flavor hours later and the gum keeps it's consistency. I do wish the flavor lasted a bit longer, but I still really enjoy each flavor.

With the whole concept of alternate ingredients that are "healthy", you would assume that it would have an aftertaste, but I was pleasantly surprised that there were none. The flavor just kind of lessens bit by bit until it does away. Bonus points for no aftertaste!
