4 Giani Granite Review and Giveaway Ends 06-10

Photobucket
Do you want to make over your kitchen but just can't afford it? I am right there with you. I've always wanted marble or granite countertops but obviously, they cost so much. My kitchen is boring with the same counters as when it was built in 1986. I have discovered the Giani Granite paint system that lets you transform your countertops to look like granite for a fraction of the price.

I am so excited about my countertop transformation! Giani Granite sends you all of the paint you need and some helpful supplies. The only things that I had to buy out of pocket were a paint roller tray, some painter's tape and clear caulk. I was sure that I'd mess up at least part of my counters by not painting it right or something but they make it so easy for you.
  • Unique blend of polymers and minerals create a   countertop that locks out moisture - while showing off the beauty of exotic black granite!
  • Great for upgrading Formica*laminate, Corian*ceramic tile, butcher block, cultured marble and traditional granite countertops and vanities
  • Covers 35 square feet or 16 running feet of standard 24" wide counters
  • Quick, fun and easy 'paint-by-number' process  for beginning painters
  • Project time - 4 hours of painting and 16 hours of drying
  • Water-based safe and low odor
  • Hides any existing stains, scratches or burns
  • Granite color is adjustable to your decor
  • Durable automotive grade clear polyurethane topcoat
  • 100% Satisfaction Guarantee
  • Complete Kit  -
-12 Oz. of IronCoreTM Primer-Base Coat

         - 6 Oz. of Pearl Mica Mineral

         - 6 Oz. of Black Onyx Mineral

         - 4 Oz. of Bronze Mineral

         - 16 Oz. of Automotive Polyurethane Topcoat
         - 6" GIANITM roller arm and two roller pads
         - 4" GIANITM granite paint sponge
         - 2" Foam Brush
         -  Black Practice Poster Board
         -
    'Paint-by-Number' DVD for beginners
         -  Illustrated Instructions

I was sent a paint kit that covers 35 sq ft. and I used every single bit of the paint. With the bronze, I was literally scraping the insides of the paint can. You can see how much counter space I have here, so if you have a bigger kitchen, you may want to buy two kits. They send you a DVD with instructions and even a practice piece of poster board to try out your technique before actually going on the counters with it.

The kit that I chose was the bombay black. I started off with step 1 which is a matte black and painted all of the counters with it. My hubby loved even just that part of the transformation and wanted to keep them black. It did make a dramatic difference to the kitchen. I let that dry for 8 hours and then started on the next steps.
The next step is the combination of the 3 cans of minerals. The colors that came with the bombay kit were pearl, black onyx, and bronze. You basically just dab the sponge lightly on the counters in layers with the minerals and end up with the granite look. I've broken down the process for you in pics. Along the way, I was a little nervous about if my technique was right and if I should be using more/less paint but it could not have turned out any better.

As you can see, they turned out absolutely amazing! I am beyond thrilled at how they turned out and I couldn't even get the pictures to reflect what I saw in person. Now, I want to do more home improvement like the cabinets. Hopefully by the summer, I'll have my walls painted and floors replaced too. I recommend that you check out Giani Granite for your countertops. I have been practically giddy about mine and showing the before and after pics to everyone.

One lucky winner will receive a Giani Granite kit of their choice.
