Bacon What?

Oh yes, It's Bacon Jam!

Skillet Bacon Jam is a spreadable condiment that is none other than - Bacon.

When I first saw this product, I just had to try it. I mean, bacon is awesome, and I've never tried it in this way before. How do they do it?

"we make this bacon spread condiment called bacon jam..you say what?.. that’s right, we use niman ranch bacon and render it down along with onions, balsamic and other spices . It cooks for several hours until it is a perfect blend of smoky, tangy, savory and slightly sweet….basically spreadable bacony goodness!  USDA approved."

Needless to say, I was intrigued and requested to try it out. I received a sample container to try out. At first glance, it is goopy and not appealing to the eye, but the aroma of the bacon is quite yummy and makes you want to try it.

At first I was debating what to try with it first. I was thinking dinner foods, snack foods, breakfast foods. There really is so much that I can do with it. Then, I realized that I was over-thinking it big time. When it boils down to it, bacon would be good on practically anything (Maybe not in ice cream like Denny's bacon sundae....Oh, yeah, they sell that and I'm not touching it) , so it shouldn't be any different in a jam spread.

In a simpler frame of mind, I just thought what do I want to eat for a snack today and I'll put some bacon jam on it. I was going to make deviled eggs so I brought bacon jam for the ride. I figured it was a 50/50 chance on whether it would be good. Here is my creation and it was delicious. I went one step further and made myself an omelet with it and even more delicious.

I wasn't sure if I'd like this bacon jam when I first opened it, but I am truly a fan. The next thing I want to try it on is some hamburgers. I'm sure it will be amazing.
