My thoughts:
I've had other silicone baking mats and I use them every time I bake anything in the oven. I'm so happy to try out this Deli Pastry Silicone Pastry Mat.
It's larger than your typical baking mat. It measures 18 x 14 which is larger than a half-sheet baking sheet. It is resistant to high temps and can be used in the oven, but primarily, this is for pastry preparation. One one side, you have a bullseye of circles ranging from 3" to 12" to help you guage size when rolling out dough. There are helpful measurement guides in the corners and faint dotted lines checkered throughout the design.
The other side has a ruler along the edges all the way around. There are helpful designs for cookie placement and dotted lines to help with placement also.
This pastry mat has a nice thickness to it. The silicone allows you to work with even the stickiest materials and they won't stick to the silicone. This is especially great with working with melted chocolate and sugar when designing cookies. It's so easy to clean. If there is a glob of something "stuck", all you have to do is bend the silicone and it pops right off.
Side note, this is supposed to come with a bonus toaster bag and mine did not come with it. My heart is not broken, but I didn't get it. I really like my pastry mat and will continue to have tons of fun making cookies and rolling out my dough using it.
