Our family has been using these gloves for a few weeks. I stress our family, because each person has used them. Mostly our cooking is done inside the home and they've been used as pot holders, but we've also used them for the grill and as a general purpose glove for gripping to open jars and containers.
They are fairly large, which can be a little cumbersome for my tiny hands and my daughter's. For my hubby and son, they fit great. They really do keep your hands from burning. Being that it is a glove, and your fingers can move freely, it's much more easy to maneuver in than a typical oven mitt. I use them to remove hot items from the oven without any fear of burning myself. I allow my daughter to use them also.
These would be great for putting more wood onto a bonfire or adjusting it. I haven't put that to the test yet, but I will.
I do wish that they were in a smaller size, and maybe in the future they will, but overall I really enjoy this product. It's amazing to me that my hand can be so close to incredible heats and my hand not burn. In most cases, I don't even feel any heat. If you keep hold of a hot pan, you will feel the heat through the glove though.
It's a big hit here in our household and I plan for each of my extended families to have a pair also. They will make for great gifts this Christmas.
