I was looking forward to these with thoughts of egg sandwiches but I realized that you can use them for just about any skillet cooking.
I received 4 silicone rings and it's just like it sounds....but with a little metal stem and silicone button to use as a handle. You put the silicone directly onto the hot pan, and I know that sounds weird, but the silicone can actually be exposed to over 400 degree F heat. The type of cooking I'll be using it for won't go anywhere near that hot though.
I tried them out this morning with our breakfast of pancakes and eggs. I put the mold right onto the pan, put a little butter in and added in my pancake mix / eggs. The molds did a fantastic job at keeping everything snug in there without spilling out of the bottom. The butter acted as a seal between the mold and pan. Once it cooked for about 30 seconds, I'd remove the ring and finish cooking the rest of the way. It was great and I love that all of my pancakes were the same size.
I can't wait to do this again and make the eggs scrambled with bits of ham and cheese in them and experiment with other ingredients. I wasn't expecting much out of these egg rings and honestly was expecting them to be all kinds of leaky but they work so great!
Cleanup is a breeze, as the silicone cleans easily with soapy water. You can also toss them in the dishwasher if you'd like.
I received this product for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
