0 Arespark Bluetooth Speaker
Info from the company:
My take on it:
Arespark bluetooth speaker
I am truly impressed by the Arespark bluetooth speaker. Not only does it work flawlessly, but it has blown me away with it's features and sound.
Out of the box:
AS200 Arespark Bluetooth speaker
Micro USB to USB charging cable
3.5mm male to male Audio cable
This bluetooth speaker is smaller than anticipated. It fits nicely in your hand. It has a caribiner clip attached which comes in handy. The outside has a rubberized feel to the edges and small sides, while the 2 large sides have a speaker mesh that has a ribbed design. If there is any dropping or just clunking around while handling the device, the rubberized edge is what is catching the brunt of any force received.
First thing you need to do is charge it. It charges with a Micro-USB to USB charging cable that is included. It is not a very long cord. The battery had some charge to it already so you could play with it straight out of the box. It has a 1700 mAh battery capacity, so will charge the average time it would take for your smartphone to charge.
Connect to bluetooth. As soon as you turn it on, it starts it's pairing mode. You go on your phone to scan for bluetooth devices. Mine showed up as AS200. Select that and now it's paired. You won't have to pair it again, as the next time it will connect automatically when you turn it on and have your bluetooth enabled on your phone.
Now that you are connected, you can play just about anything through the speakers of this device. Obviously you can listen to music and it can handle all kinds. I tried it with music that has deep base and metal music that is a little more peircing and it sounded fantastic. The volume that this little speaker can reach is insane. It can get very loud. I was using it to play my movie from Netflix while I was cooking dinner so I could hear over the running water and sounds on the stove.
This speaker is splash / shock proof (IP4) This makes this a great shower speaker because it can get wet from the occasional mist or bounce-off spray with no problems. It is not waterproof and should not be subjected to direct water or be submerged.
The point of this bluetooth speaker, is that you can connect to bluetooth and play music from your phone but one of my favorite features of this speaker is that you can plug in an Micro SD card and play music straight from it. That is fantastic for me, as I am not using any additional battery power from my phone. This feature is great to take with on outings and the beach.
If you don't have bluetooth or an SD card but want to play music directly from your device, you can do so by using the included audio cable.
This speaker does have the ability to answer incoming calls and talk through a mic on the top of the device. This feature is great if you are laying out by the pool or beach with your speaker and kept your phone in a dry area further away. No missed calls.
The only thing I can think that could be better is not even a complaint. The little flap that you open that covers the audio jack, USB outlet, and Micro SD card slot opens up in a way that you don't have a lot of room between it and the caribiner loop.
I am truly impressed and am giving this as many stars as I'm allowed. I highly recommend.
