The silicone baking mat is one of the best inventions for the kitchen. It saves so much time and energy. I can bake practically anything I want on it, and not have to worry about the food sticking to it. One of the biggest issues I've had with baking sheets and pans is that using cooking spray on them leaves a residue. That residue is impossible to get off completely and eventually, I always end up throwing away the pan. Lots of money has been spent over the years with this.
I really enjoyed using this silicone mat. Out of the package, I washed it first thing in soapy water. Then I dried it and put it to work.
I put it on one of my flat baking sheets to make cinnamon rolls. It fits a US Half Sheet which is a decent size.
It can be used up to 480F. The most I ever cook at is 400F, so no worries about overheating it.
After cooking the cinnamon rolls for the allotted time, I tried moving them to a plate and they picked right up off of the mat. There was no sticking at all. The great thing about this is you don't end up with pieces of your food stuck to the pan. The rolls cooked evenly and were delicious.
Cleanup is a breeze. You can put the mat in the dishwasher, but I find it's easier to just give it a quick wash in the sink with soapy water. I didn't have to wash the baking sheet at all. No food ever touched it.
I store mine rolled up in the cabinet with my pots and pans.
I highly recommend this product. It works so well and saves me a lot of effort and time.
