Product Description (from company)
Established in 2011, Red Brick Candle is committed to making beautiful, hand-crafted candles, with a focus on simplicity, beauty and sophistication. We pay special attention to the details, knowing that our candles must effortlessly illuminate and compliment the spaces in which they exist. Red Brick Candles are architecturally inspired and are designed to be burned together, creating rich candlescapes that add the perfect touch of warmth to any setting.

LOFT No. 1 | A Deep Blend of Warm Maple and Rich Vanilla: Our LOFT Collection is inspired by the swag, sophistication and simple beauty of loft city living. From the moment you receive your candle, you will notice the attention to detail - from our packaging to the hand-poured wax. Each candle contains 10.9 ounces of premium grade soy based wax and provides 75-80 hours of clean, even burn time and rich luxurious scents. And of course, our wicks are all natural and lead free.

More than creating beautiful candles, we recognize that we must also work in a responsible and socially sustainable way. That's why we also commit to donating ten percent of every dollar we make to community development and urban revitalization efforts in the U.S., with a special focus on the arts and education initiatives in our hometown, Atlanta, GA.

Shipping: shipped with Amazon prime. Quick delivery and package was in-tact.

Out of the box: I appreciate presentation with products. I have to give huge props to Red Brick Candle, as I really enjoyed their packaging and the opening process. I felt like I wasn't just opening something that I ordered online, but that it was a gift I was receiving.
Design / Aesthetics: Again with the presentation, it's all a package deal for me. As soon as you start opening the box, the smell hits you. I wish there was aroma-vision. It has a maple / vanilla scent that is amazing! The Candle is in glass. Also contained is a small box of matches.
Put it to use: I actually learned new things about candle burning that I'd never known. The company followed up with me after I'd ordered it to provide me with some tips about candle usage. Check them out: In order to extend the life of your candles, and enjoy them at their best, we recommend the following:
- To prevent tunneling, you should burn your candles for one hour per inch of container diameter when you first light it. This rule of thumb applies to any jar candle you purchase. For your Red Brick Candle Loft Collection candle, you need to burn the candle for a minimum of 3 hours the first time. If not, the wax will never melt past the first wax pool and therefore, may cause tunneling.
- Candles burn longer as long as the wick is trimmed appropriately to 1/4 inch before burning, and the candle is allowed to burn until the wax pool (melted wax) reaches the edge of the container. For best results, burn your Red Brick Candle for a minimum of 3 hours and a maximum of 4 hours at a time.
- It is best to keep wicks trimmed to 1/4 - 1/8 inch each time you burn a candle to prevent mushrooming from the previous burning.
- A well-made candle will create virtually no smoke when burning properly. However, if the wick becomes too long, or an air current disturbs the flame's teardrop shape, small amounts of unburned carbon particles will escape from the flame as a visible wisp of smoke. Any candle will smoke if the flame is disturbed. To avoid this, always trim the wick to 1/4 inch before every use and be sure to place candles away from drafts, vents or air currents. If a candle continually flickers or smokes, it is not burning properly and should be extinguished. Allow the candle to cool, trim the wick, make sure the area is draft free, and then re-light.
That is all a little wordy, but I wanted to include the info because it was some new info for me and I thought you might enjoy it also. I really enjoy this candle. It not only gives off a pleasant scent, but envelopes the room with it. Actually it trickled throughout my whole house, with my bedroom being the most concentrated where the candle was burning.
The price is a little steep compared to going to a box store and buying a candle, but for the luxury experience, if you will, it is just a treat. From the packaging, to the candle itself, to the absolutely welcoming communication from Red Brick Candle, I could not be happier right now.
Treat yourself, or give as a gift. Check it out.
