Every young girl needs inspiration and motivation to keep them positive as they encounter life's challenges. With this simple, yet inspiring book by Carey Grund, Pink Lemonade, it offers just that.
My daughter is nine years old, and I know all too well what struggles a young girl goes through. In that stage of development, it seems as if everything is so much more dramatic than we do as adults. If a friend gets angry and won't return her calls, it's catastrophic and to her, it seems as if the world just may never be the same.
It's important to keep inspiring them to look for the positive despite those challenges. This book does just that. It's simple written and a short read, but that is just enough for a 9 year old to read and comprehend. The book is written to be read by the child, as the author talks directly to them. It feeds off the "life hands you lemons, make lemonade" concept.
I did like how the author provided examples of each of the points she was making and provided some inspirational quotes from other positive female role models.
This is one of my favorite lines from the book:
"Take advantage of this time of innocence to build up your inner strength and self-confidence. When your sweet innocence on day falls away, this inner strength will rise to the challenge and come forth to take its place."
