Tropical Traditions continues to amaze me with their wonderful products. Offering you a healthier route for your recipes and delicious coconut taste, I introduce to you their coconut flour. Tropical Traditions has a great variety of products and I've reviewed many of them here at Tiff's Pixie Dust. I've become a huge fan and incorporate their products into my life everyday.

Tropical Traditions organic coconut flour is fiber from the coconut meat after most of the oil has been extracted to make Virgin Coconut Oil. It is certified organic, unsweetened, and has not been treated with sulfites. Tropical Traditions organic coconut flour is high in dietary fiber and protein, and is gluten-free. It has more fiber than gluten-based grains. Tropical Traditions organic coconut flour can be added to standard wheat-based recipes to add extra fiber, by substituting 10-30% of the grain-based flour with our coconut flour. Some recipes, such as muffins and quick breads, can be accomplished with 100% Tropical Traditions organic coconut flour and therefore be 100% gluten-free! (See recipes here) Since organic coconut flour contains natural sugar from the coconut meat, baked goods need less sugar added. The organic coconut flour has a mildly sweet coconut taste!

I got the pleasure of trying out the 2.2 lb bag of coconut flour. Obviously I am a coconut lover and enjoy meals and desserts with coconut involved. There was plenty of flour there to play with. As soon as you open the bag, you get that burst of coconut aroma. So yum!  The texture is almost silky smooth, but you'll notice the color is slightly beige.

I tried making cookies and biscuits with it and had great success. The next thing I'd like to try is to use the coconut flour in my batter for fried pork chops or boneless chicken. I bet that will be amazing.

I have had the opportunity to try many of Tropical Traditions products and they do accent each other well. Each one that I've tried, has left me impressed and I will continue to talk them up because the proof is in the great products they provide.
