Yesterday I went to my quarterly award ceremony at my work where I was given a plaque celebrating my longevity of 10 years working there. It's amazing how much time has went by since I've started there and even more amazing that I am still there!
I work at my local Sheriff's Office as a 911 dispatcher. I wear all of the hats, taking calls (both non-emergency and 911 calls), work the various radio channels including Fire Rescue dispatch and Law enforcement dispatch. Needless to say, it's a crazy job that has rewards and stresses like no other.
When I started there, I was 19 years old and my son was in diapers. Since then, I've had another child, got married and bought a house. I can only imagine what the next 10 years will bring. I plan to be there for the long haul and retire through them also. I doubt that I'll be in the heart of it in the call center for my full 30 years because I might need some crazy meds if that happens. It is so stressful and there is a lot of responsibility that comes with it.
-However -
Today is my day off and I am already off to a rocky start. My daughter has been complaining of a tooth ache here and there and I hadn't gotten a chance to get her in to the dentist. This morning, it was hurting her terribly and I got her an appt squeezed in at the dentist.
That means, unfortunately that I'm missing my first Nature Coast blogger meeting where bloggers from my area of Florida get together and discuss all things bloggy. I was really looking forward to meeting with them and learning some tools of the trade. I'll definitely try to go to the next one.
That is all for now, I've got some reviews and giveaways to post today so keep your eye out for those. I hope to stay on track and get them done today.
I hope your daughter is ok!
