Space Race Kids is a free online web series that teaches kids about space education, space travel and racing. With animation that compares to the movie Cars, likeable characters and activities on their site, it's sure to keep your children entertained.


Space Race won a Kids First! Award for best screenplay for children. Directed by Emmy award winning director Mark Risley and hosted by "Gary Galaxy", played by Meyer deLeeuw.

The 8 characters are rocket ships that each have a different focus to teach kids about that solar system topic during the webisode they are featured. My daughter is 8 years old. We sat down and played on the site together, watched the webisodes and played some games. This really is a cute site for the kids. The webisodes are captivating and teach them bits about space. I can picture it being turned into longer episodes or even a movie.
The games were fun too. Very basic, but there is a racing game using the keyboard arrows, Space Race Trivia, and a Which character are you? game. There's also flash cards, worksheets, and coloring sheets. While playing, it was time for my daughter to go to school and she made me promise to let her on as soon as she got home. I like that it entertains her and is educational too.

I was sent an 18x24 poster with a display of the solar system.(pictured above) Even though the site appeals more to my daughter, the poster went to me son. He loves space stuff and it went perfectly with the space theme we're doing in his room. I mean, we did name him Orion after all. It was destined that he enjoy space stuff. He loved the poster.
