0 Trying to be a good person...

I feel the need to vent a little bit this morning.

I just went up to my newspaper box where I bought 4 papers for coupons. As I was there, an elderly couple pulled up so I walked over with my papers and offered to give them my papers(minus coupons) to them because the only reason I bought them was for coupons. The little old lady got a nasty look on her face and said "so, you bought them all?" ....to which I answered that there were plenty in the box and that I just bought 4 of them for the coupons and they were welcome to have my papers. They sped off with disgust on their faces like I had done something wrong.

I don't know if they think that I did buy all the papers or what, but the whole situation left me confused and insulted. I was just trying to be nice and save them from having to pay for their newspaper.

I went back and left the newspapers minus coupons on the box with a note for anyone that may want them. If they are still there later, I'll grab them and recycle.

Especially with the holiday season, I'm trying to make it a point to be more helpful and to be a good person but it's very difficult when stuff like this happens. My chin is up though, maybe someone else will want my help.
