0 *Closed*Legacy Family Tree Review and Giveaway

This giveaway is now *Closed*
Congrats to the winner Janet Faye with comment number 27!

Legacy Family Tree is a Genealogy database program that you can input your family information and chart them into a Family Tree.

I've been looking for a program that I can make my own family tree and this program was exactly what I needed. The main component of entering your information in was simple. You just click each block to update it and can go back easily. This is not a research program, however they do offer a lot of helpful links to assist you with what you want to find and it also lets you put them into a task list so that you don't forget anything.
The research is where you'll spend a lot of your time.
Once you get your information entered, you can make these very cool charts. There are 18 different ones. The Fan option is very interesting. You can even choose it to be circular and work it's way from the center. You can even make a slideshow CD.

Here's a few examples of the charting possibilities:

I have limited information for my family, so I'm spending a lot of time researching but I love the program and will continue to map my family tree as my research continues.

You can download the free version to try it out if you'd like.

0 Giveaway - Robi Comb - Ends

***This Giveaway is now closed***

I know that no one wants to think about lice or their kids getting it. I'm sure your head is starting to itch at the thought of lice as you are reading this. LOL

Here's a product that is new to me and to be honest, I have not tried it but would love to have it in case of a lice situation. I've read around about it and it looks like it works really well.

It is called the Robi Comb and is sold by a company called LiceGuard.
From their website:
Robi Comb detects and destroys lice on contact simply by combing it through dry hair. When the electronic Robi Comb touches lice, they get zapped, die and are combed out of the hair.
In addition, while lice have been reported to be building up a resistance to pesticides used in other lice treatments, lice cannot become resistant to the Robi Comb treatment.

This means you don't have to use any chemicals or treatments on your child's hair.

Also with the chemicals, lice are known to build up a resistence to them and with this, they cannot become resistant to the Robi Comb treatment.

It's cost effective, as it retails for $24.95 through their site and it can be used over and over again, unlike other treatments.

Want to win one for yourself?

Mandatory Entry:  Simple, just comment on this post letting me know you want to win this. Please leave me a way to contact you if you win.

Bonus entries:
  • Follow me on Google Friend Connect by clicking on Follow on the left sidebar (2 entries)

That's a total of 4 entries possible into this giveaway.

I will pick the winner via Random.org on 11-08-10 23:59 ET. The winner will have 48 hours to respond, unless another winner will be selected.

I am not receiving any compensation for doing this review. The purposes of this review are to spread the word about a great product and give my awesome readers a chance to win it. Thank you to Robi-Comb for sponsoring.

0 K T Tunsall New CD - Tiger Suit

You may have heard of KT Tunsall before. One of her most popular songs are “Black Horse and the Cherry Tree” and “Suddenly I See”.

The time has come! She has come out with a new CD. It's titled Tiger Suit, released on Oct. 4th.

Biography via Amazon.com: KT Tunstall has had a recurring dream since she was a child. She sees a tiger in her garden and goes outside to stroke it. She returns indoors and is seized by the fear that she could have been killed. Over the years, it has occurred to her that the reason the tiger responds so passively is that she herself is disguised as a tiger. That she is wearing a tiger suit.

I love each song on there. It's a little different than her previous stuff, with a little more edge. My favorite track is  "Glamour Puss". The very first song is “Uummannaq Song,” which actually reminds me of Fiona Apple a lot. (which I am a huge fan of) Another noteable song is "Come on, Get in" which reminds me of the classic "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" which we have all grown to love.

My opinion is that I love it. It's not a huge change from what she did before and I don't know how many tracks are poppy enough to be radio played but I am a fan and will be playing it over and over in my house, on my blackberry, in my car, you name it!

0 Eden Fantasys Review

This review is of an adult nature. Please do not continue if offended.

I've recently found this great company Eden Fantasys. They sell just about anything you could want of adult nature, such as adult toys You can buy everything online so you can do so from the comfort of your own home. I personally don't want to go out to one of "those" stores to buy things for the bedroom. They have so much variety you can browse and find just want fits best for you. You can even use that as a starting point to get new ideas for things you may want to do or try in the near future. The possibilities are endless.

I have the pleasure of joining their review program and had the great opportunity to review one of their products for the purposes of this review. I searched their site for what seemed like forever, wanting so many things and not sure what to choose.

I considered getting a vibrator first, as they have so many and what lady couldn't use one of those? Maybe something simple...like the Meanie

Then, I considered some lubricant....they had so many to choose from, it was insane. They also have different categories to choose from such as oil based, water based, etc. I do like the Climax bursts warming, mainly because I love the packaging.

Then, I considered a fantasy game and was ready to place my order. They have some really fun looking games. One that seemed like so much fun and you could use at parties was the Party Truth or Dare game. I could picture a party with friends and this game being a big hit.

Then, I started to get into the lingerie section which was my favorite section to be in. Once I started looking through all of the great stuff, I knew that I would choose one for my review. It took a while, but I did narrow it down to the Heart Mesh Bra with Tanga Shorts.

Isn't it great? I knew that I had chosen the perfect item. The woman in the pic looks so sexy in it and I felt just as sexy wearing it. I was a little worried about the fit when I ordered it because it only gave S,M, L, XL size choices, however I was pleasantly suprised when it fit perfectly. I couldn't have asked for a better fit, actually. That alone in itself is amazing to me, that makes me even more excited to own it. I did have to tighten the straps a little, because the straps were a little itchy when they were loose, but once tightened, they are great. The material is a very thin mesh and the little hearts are soft like velvet or something which gives it great texture. I'm leaning more and more toward pink these days, so I chose this one, instead of a black one that I started looking at. It made me feel very girlie and attractive.

Bottom line, I'd highly recommend this to anyone and everyone. I for one, will be wearing it all the time and am so happy that I own it. I was extremely happy with the quick shipping and my experience with Eden Fantasys and will absolutely be a long-time customer.

I would like to Thank You for reading my review and Eden Fantasys for sponsoring it. I did receive this product for free, in exchange for my review of it, however that did not affect my opinion in any way. The opinions here are my own.

0 Closed - StaphAseptic Review and Giveaway Ends 10-29-10 - Closed

Contest is closed: Amy was chosen as our winner with comment:
I would like to win! We had a scary episode of arm infection due to staph, this ointment sounds great to have in every home's 1st aid kit!

Congrats Amy!

We deal with our fair share of boo-boos here with two kids. I've recently come accross this product StaphAseptic and was eager to try it out.

StaphAseptic is for the prevention of skin infections caused by bacteria such as MRSA and other germs.
What is MRSA? MRSA Staphylococcus Aureus, also refererd to as Staph. There are certain types of Staph that are resistent to antiobiotics.
StaphAseptic kills 99.9% of antibiotic resistent staph (MRSA). Other treatments such as triple antibiotic ointment are not effective against staph.
Note this is not a treatment or cure for any existing infection, but a prevention of such. You should use StaphAseptic as part of your first aid process when caring for new cuts, scrapes, etc.

Here's some tips of what you can also be doing to prevent bacterial infections:
  • Treating and covering wounds
  • Don't share personal items like towels, soap and razors
  • Showering after physical activity
  • Properly clean all athletic equipment and gear
  • Keeping hands clean
I waited a few days after getting the product to see if the kids would get any bumps or scrapes and it didn't happen for me to put the StaphAseptic on it, however my hubby had a rash (almost like a heat rash) that we put the product on and it did seem to calm it down quite a bit. The tube that it comes in is 2 oz. It's easy to open. It's a gel-like material that is clear. It does smell like medicine when you first put it on but the smell goes away after a bit. I for one, am especially glad that I own this and am keeping it with my first aid supplies, for any bumps and scrapes that my kids will surely get in the near future.

If you'd like to try it out, here's a coupon:

Want to win your own tube of StaphAseptic?

0 Costume Discounters Review

Right now the buzz amongst the blogs is geared toward Halloween. It is fastly approaching us and such a fun holiday!

I remember when we were growing up, we seldomly got a costume bought for us. We usually made them ourselves and had so much fun in the process. For example, one year my older brother and I made Pac Man costumes out of cardboard, duct tape, and yellow spray paint. I put a bow on mine so she could be Ms Pac Man. Another year I was Rainbow Brite but I used an actual cloth rainbow decoration from my wall and wrapped it around a leotard to make myself into Rainbow Brite. Now that my kids are getting a little older, they are finally starting to become more independent and make some creative decisions about their Halloween costumes. (instead of my son being spider man for the 3rd year in a row and my daughter always being a fairy princess)

This is my first Halloween since I’ve been blogging and I honestly never realized how many costume websites there were out there. When I came across the opportunity to review a costume from Costume Discounters, I jumped at the chance. They have so much variety and I love the way the site is broken down into categories. For instance, my daughter wanted to look at witch costumes so I was able to narrow that down very quickly by choosing the Witch page on the Right sidebar. they have so much available from boys costumes, girls costumes, adult, infant, plus size, and even pet costumes! Something for everyone.

Now for the good stuff…..my daughter chose the Child Stitch Witch Costume, which is solid black.  It came with the dress, hat, and belt.  It retails on their site for $31.97.  I plan to dress it up with some black shoes, black tights, and a broom.

This is my first time buying a costume online, so was leary of what to expect. I was worried that I’d get a WalMart type costume , but was pleasantly surprised. This costume is adorable. I’m including a pic into this post so you can see for yourself just how cute it is. It’s made from strong material and could easily be worn over again. We pass costumes along to other moms and another little girl will be so lucky to wear this again next year.

I did receive this costume for review purposes and did not receive any other compensation. The opinions here are my own! I would like to Thank Costume Discounters for this great giveaway opportunity.

    5out of 5

Pros: Dishwasher Safe, Easy to Operate

    Best Uses: Meats, Soup

    Describe Yourself: Casual Cook

I honestly have only great things to say about this crock pot.
My old one was similar in size but more simple and the handles were broken off.

This one is great. I like that it is black in color so it matches things in my kitchen. The size is great for a dinner for four. I made chili and it was just big enough for the whole family to eat and a little went into the fridge for leftovers. I love the handles. They are a little unique and the grip was strange at first, but now I love them because they give me more area to grip than my old crock pot (before the old handles broke off, LOL) I love the "keep warm" setting as that is a new feature for me.

Overall, I love it. Great price, looks great, works great.

It's that time of year again. Kids are back in school and everyone is getting colds. I am always on the lookout for cold medicine that actually works and doesn't taste too much like medicine.  I got the opportunity to review the above pictured products and recommend them highly. I am so glad to have them in the cupboard for any sore throats that come our way. When I run out, I'll be sure to go back out and buy more because it's a great product.

    • Total Wild Cherry

0 What I did with my Uprinting business cards.

I already have "business cards" with my info on them so decided to do something a little different with my 250 business cards.

I chose to put our family pics that we just had taken onto them.
    Side One:
     Side Two
I hope they turn out as great as I hope they will. I chose the rounded edges so that should be super cute and I can give them out to, well, everyone since I'll have 250 of them! LOL  My family will love me. With winning these print giveaways my family won't have to complain about not getting any pictures from me. Oh My!
